Hamilton County SWCD

Overview

The Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District provides the Hamilton County community with conservation leadership and quality service dedicated to improving and sustaining its natural resources.

Objective

The objective of this project was to give the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District a fresh, modern brand system that truly represents what they do. Because a prior creative attempt felt copied and unoriginal, our goal was to build a unique visual identity from the ground up, making sure every logo, color asset, and typeface was designed specifically for them and their community.

Final Logo

The chosen logomark was inspired by a bird ’s-eye view of Hamilton County, specifically the Connor Prairie bend. The bend of the river created the arch of the uppercase “H.” The house on the left side takes inspiration from the urban and residential area on the right side of the river bend. The right side is an abstracted interpretation of a geographical map of the rural side of the county. The yellow areas represent soil, while the greens represent farmland. The blue areas symbolize water.
